Futurama

Bender: Who are you, and why should I care?

Leela: Professor. Please. Society is never gonna make any progress until we all learn to pretend to like each other. Now, let's go over there and make these hideous strangers feel welcome.
Professor Hubert Farnsworth: No.

Bender: But going through a divorce together, you can't pretend that didn't bring us closer together.

Leela: You're just jealous.
Fry: No I'm not. Oh wait - yes I am. But my point remains valid.

Amy Wong: You just have to give guys a chance. Sometimes you meet a guy and think he's a pig, but then later on you realize he actually has a really good body.

Professor Hubert Farnsworth: You must take him to his ancient home world, which will soon erupt in an orgy of invertebrate sex.
Fry: Oh baby. I'm THERE.
Leela: Fry, do you even understand the word "invertebrate"?
Fry: Nope, but that's not the word I'm interested in.

Bender: There's nothing wrong with murder, so long as you let Bender wet his beak.
Leela: You're blackmailing me?
Bender: Blackmail is such an ugly word. I prefer "extortion." The "X" makes it sound cool.

Ch´ien - Cielo.
Ch´ien - Cielo.

LAS LINEAS:

Nueve en la base significa: "Dragón escondido. No actuar".

Finito e Infinito. The Necronomicon by Abdul Alhazred. Lovecraft

Appearance and contents

The Necronomicon is mentioned in a number of Lovecraft's short stories and in his novellas At the Mountains of Madness and The Case of Charles Dexter Ward. However, despite frequent references to the book, Lovecraft was very sparing of details about its appearance and contents. He once wrote that "if anyone were to try to write the Necronomicon, it would disappoint all those who have shuddered at cryptic references to it."[13]

In "The Nameless City" (1921), a rhyming couplet that appears at two points in the story is ascribed to Abdul Alhazred:

That is not dead which can eternal lie.
And with strange aeons even death may die.

The same couplet appears in "The Call of Cthulhu" (1928), where it is identified as a quotation from the Necronomicon.

The Necronomicon is a fictional book appearing in the stories by horror novelist H. P. Lovecraft. It was first mentioned in Lovecraft's 1924 short story "The Hound",[1] written in 1922, though its purported author, the "Mad Arab" Abdul Alhazred, had been quoted a year earlier in Lovecraft's "The Nameless City".[2] Among other things, the work contains an account of the Old Ones, their history, and the means for summoning them.

Abdul Alhazred is a fictional character created by American horror writer H. P. Lovecraft. He is the so-called "Mad Arab" credited with authoring the imaginary book Kitab al-Azif (the Necronomicon), and as such an integral part of Cthulhu Mythos lore.

Wild quotations

Wisdom comes with winters.

We live in an age when unnecessary things are our only necessities.

Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone elses opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation.

De Profundis, 1905

Oscar Wilde
Irish dramatist, novelist, & poet (1854 - 1900)

One should absorb the colour of life, but one should never remember its details. Details are always vulgar.

Oscar Wilde, "The Picture of Dorian Gray"
Irish dramatist, novelist, & poet (1854 - 1900)

The only thing that sustains one through life is the consciousness of the immense inferiority of everybody else, and this is a feeling that I have always cultivated.

Oscar Wilde, "The Remarkable Rocket"

The secret of life is to appreciate the pleasure of being terribly, terribly deceived.

Oscar Wilde, "A Woman of No Importance", Act 3

When the gods wish to punish us, they answer our prayers.

Oscar Wilde, "An Ideal husband", 1893

My own business always bores me to death; I prefer other people's.

Oscar Wilde, Lady Windermere's Fan, 1892

One's real life is often the life that one does not lead.

Life is far too important a thing ever to talk seriously about.

Oscar Wilde, Lady Windermere's Fan, 1892, Act I

Experience is the name everyone gives to their mistakes.

Oscar Wilde, Lady Windermere's Fan, 1892, Act III

We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars.

Oscar Wilde, Lady Windermere's Fan, 1892, Act III

To give an accurate description of what has never occurred is not merely the proper occupation of the historian, but the inalienable privilege of any man of parts and culture.

Oscar Wilde, The Critic as Artist

It is only an auctioneer who can equally and impartially admire all schools of art.

When a woman marries again, it is because she detested her first husband. When a man marries again, it is because he adored his first wife. Women try their luck; men risk theirs.

Ch´ien - Cielo
